IPL means Intense Pulsed light and while it may sound like a laser treatment, it is not a laser. Using IPL we can select from multiple wavelengths of light (unlike lasers which use one continuous light wavelength). We can enter into the computer your skin colour, body area and skin type to generate specific settings for your skin. During treatment multiple wavelengths of light are entering the upper skin layer concentrating their energy at different levels. That allows us to treat many different problems. IPL treatment can reverse the aging process on those most visible of places: hands, neck, upper chest and face. Specifically IPL can treat:
Redness of the neck
Blotchy skin colour, freckles, dark spots
Pigmented brown spots
Sun spots
Sun damage
Fine Lines
Remove facial veins, correct Rosacea
Decrease pore size
Facial/age spots
Pigmentation
The treatment takes about 20 minutes for the face. Afterwards there is a flush, not really redness. It goes away in an hour or two. You can apply make-up straight away and can go back to work. Usually this treatment takes 3-4 treatments two weeks apart.
