If you’re looking for tattoo removal in Bali, then you probably have a lot of questions. Can tattoos be removed? If so, how does Bali tattoo removal work? And where can you find a professional tattoo removal clinic?
In this article, we’re going to discuss the state-of-the-art tattoo removal processes we use at ARC Clinic. With our tattoo removal techniques, tattoo removal in Bali has never been more simple, safe or affordable.
How Does Laser Tattoo Removal In Bali Work?
The best way to remove tattoos is through a technique called laser tattoo removal. A laser shines an intense light through the surface of the skin which hits the tattoo ink in the sub-dermal layers. The ink shatters into tiny particles which the body can then safely remove and dispose of naturally.
Permanent Tattoo Removal At ARC Clinic
When you go for a Bali tattoo removal with ARC Clinic, you’ll enjoy a professional, step-by-step process.
Step 1: Consultation
First comes the consultation. This is where you’ll be examined by a doctor who will look at the type of pigment used in your tattoo and which colours need to be removed. The consultation is important because it helps our doctors know how to calibrate lasers. Dark colours, like black, blue and green require a laser light in the longer 1064-nanometer range to shift tattoos, while lighter colours, like reds, yellows and oranges need shorter wavelengths in the 532-nanometer range.
Step 2: Removal
The next step is the tattoo removal process itself. Tattoo removal usually takes place in a series of cycles. The first part of the cycle is where one of our physicians targets a laser at your tattoo and breaks up the ink. The energy from the laser targets the ink under the skin, causing it to disintegrate while protecting the surrounding tissue.
In the days following treatment, your lymphatic system (a kind of secondary circulatory system), will then shuttle the pigment from out from beneath the skin and dispose of it. It can take between four and six weeks to complete this process.
Step 3: Repeat Appointment
Once the lymphatic system has had sufficient time to do its work, it’s then time to decide whether there’s a need to repeat the treatment process. Our doctor will examine your tattoo and may recommend another round of professional treatment at our tattoo removal clinic. Ultimately, there will be no trace of the original tattoo. It’ll be just like it was before you got the tattoo in the first place.
What Happens During Laser Tattoo Removal?
The most important part of laser removal is collecting as much information as possible about your skin type and who did your tattoo in the first place. An ARC Clinic doctor will talk to you about your skin tone, as this will affect the kind of laser treatment used. We will also speak to you about your propensity for keloid scarring as this will affect the type of removal service that we use.
We always begin with the gentlest laser settings first, ensuring that your skin can tolerate the procedure, regardless of whether you have a light or dark complexion. During the first few sessions, you may not notice a significant effect from the treatment, but over time, the effects will mount. With our laser tattoo removal in Bali, you’ll get consistent results and be able to remove your tattoo in the safest way possible.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Tattoo removal takes between four and eight treatments to complete. After each treatment, you should notice a reduction in the intensity of the tattoo pigment. The procedure should take a total of six to eight weeks. Treatment will take longer if your tattoo contains many light colours. It will also take longer if your tattoo is new.
Does Tattoo Removal Hurt?
Unfortunately, tattoo removal can be painful – similar to the pain of getting a tattoo in the first place. The treatment feels a little like a rubber band snapping against your skin. ARC Clinic doctors will apply a small amount of local anaesthetic to the tattoo region to help reduce discomfort.
Does The Age Of Your Tattoo Make A Difference?
At ARC Clinic, we offer full tattoo removal in Kuta, no matter how new or colourful it is. But it’s worth pointing out that the age of your tattoo can make a difference in your treatment regimen.
Older tattoos tend to fade with time. Many people think that the reason tattoos fade is because of skin shedding — skin from the epidermis flakes off, replaced by new skin cells coming up from beneath. But when tattooists inject ink, they put it into sub-layers of skin that do not flake off in the same way.
So why do older tattoos fade? And can tattoos be removed? Older tattoos fade as old skin cells engorged with ink die off and get replaced with newer cells that are free from pigmentation. Each new cell contributes to the process of returning the skin to its original colour. Of course, new cells are tiny, so can’t be seen individually. But over time, and with a sufficient number of them, they produce the effect that a tattoo is fading.
The good news is that older tattoos are usually much easier to remove than newer ones. For instance, a fifteen-year-old tattoo will be much more faded than a 2-month-old one.
What Comes After Tattoo Removal In Kuta?
Once laser treatment is complete, you’ll want to take the following precautions:
- Do not bathe or shower the affected areas for three days following treatment
- Apply anti-bacterial ointment three times per day
- Keep the area clean by applying the supplied ointment
- Do not use moisturisers or creams for seven to ten days post-treatment
- Protect the skin from sun damage. UV radiation can interrupt the healing process
- Cover the affected area with SPF 25 sunscreen for the duration of the treatment.
Remember, with our permanent tattoo removal service, you can finally remove tattoos that you no longer want, bringing your skin back to its former appearance.
